Crowns, Bridges and Veneers

Crowns

Crowns or “Caps”  are restorations that cover your whole tooth.  These are done when a tooth is too broken down to reliably hold a filling or has large fillings or cracks that that are likely to break.  They are cemented or bonded to your natural tooth and should look, feel, and function like your natural tooth.

Bridges

A bridge is an option for replacing missing teeth.  By crowning the teeth beside the space you can connect a porcelain “false” tooth that sits on top of the gums.  Along with implants, bridges offer a non-removable option for replacing teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are porcelain coverings for the front of your tooth.  These are good option when your teeth are otherwise healthy but you have cosmetic concerns.

Both veneers and crowns can be made from advanced ceramics that can improve the look of your smile.  A consult with your dentist can help you determine which is best for you.
